Barry L. Burke, 56, of Glace Bay, passed away peacefully on Dec. 25, 2013.
He was the son of the late John and Mary Burke of Passchendaele.
Barry graduated from St. Michael Sr. High School and while enrolled in the Millwright Apprentice Program, was injured in an industrial accident at the Glace Bay Heavy Water Plant at the age of 19.
Barry was lovingly cared for by his parents (later his sister Kathleen) and a dedicated staff of personal care workers since 1976.
He had touched many people in his life and no one will ever forget having met him.
Left to mourn Barry are his siblings, brothers, Fred (Barbara) Denney, Sydney, John (Marie) Burke, Chester Basin; sisters, Kathleen Burke-MacDonald (Dan), Glace Bay, Nancy (Paul) Hines, Dartmouth; as well as 12 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Heather Hodder and niece, Holly MacDonald.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request.
