Passed peacefully at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on December 29, 2013. Born to Edward and Lenora Moriarty of Harbour Grace on January 15, 1922. Predeceased by her husband Michael (1985) and son Stephen (2009), her sister Elizabeth and her brothers John, Stephen, and Father Edward S.F.M. Leaving to mourn her sons Michael, Edward (Judy Mugford), and Dennis (Susan Chalker); daughters Paula (Michael Nemec) and Mary Lou (Ed Martin); and daughter-in-law Lena Browne. Also her seventeen grandchildren Stephen and Shannon Browne; Paul, Michael, David and Maria Browne; Michael (Maggie) and Andrea Nemec; Bill (Jane), Michelle, Stephanie, Tom, and Jamie Browne; Jeff, Paul (Katy), Sean and David Martin; plus six great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn her sisters Patricia Cochrane of St. John's and Philomena Stapleton of Ottawa. As well, many nieces and nephews including Bill Kennedy (Sylvia) and Cathy Sinyard (Rex) of Harbour Grace, Jean French (John) of Corner Brook, and Pat Cochrane (Bonnie) of St. John's. Paula will be missed by friends in the Seniors Club, the St. Gerard's Guild, and retired co-workers from the Central Newfoundland Hospital. Visitation at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Grand Falls Windsor on Friday, January 3rd, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Grand Falls Windsor on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Scarboro Foreign Missions www.scarboromissions.ca or to a charity of choice.
