It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Meena Gajjar (nee Vadgama) on December 4, 2013. After a short illness with cancer, Meena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her husband Mohan.

She leaves behind her daughters Darshana (John), Nainita (Mark), Nina, and her two treasured granddaughters Kiran and Alisha. She also leaves behind numerous cherished family and friends.

Meena and Mohan immigrated to Vancouver in 1965 from Dar es salaam, Tanzania. They prospered in Vancouver and were able to support families from Uganda who were leaving the unrest in the 1970's. Meena volunteered with the Lions Club for over 20 years and at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

We wish to give special thanks to Dr. Chevalier and the staff of Royal Inland Hospital for their warm and professional care of Meena. She is best remembered for her love of family, friends and community, for her beautiful smile and warm and generous heart.

Donations can be made in Meena Gajjar's name to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation in Kamloops or the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Desert Gardens, 540 Seymour Street, Kamloops.
