Clifford Kennedy

Date de décès : 7 janvier 2014

1923 - 2014 - Clifford Keltie Kennedy passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on January 7, 2014, at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Ina Kennedy, and his son, Keltie Bruce Kennedy. Cliff will also be missed by his grandchildren, extended family, neighbors and friends. Cliff grew up in Hampton, New Brunswick and dreamed of being a baseball player. The Second World War intervened with this dream, he enlisted, and was sent overseas. He trained in England, served with the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment in Italy, saw Holland liberated at the end of the war, and stayed in Europe after VE Day with the Canadian Army's occupation of Germany. In 1946 he married Dorothy Nash, a nursing sister with the R.C.A.M.C., who had also experienced the harsh realities of war. Inspired by the injustices he had seen during the war, Cliff became a lawyer, graduating from Dalhousie University in Halifax. Cliff worked at a private legal firm in Toronto, then moved his family to Ottawa where he was proud to once again serve his country as a federal government lawyer with the Department of Transport. After Dorothy's passing, Cliff remarried in 2007, reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Ina (Davidson) Dann. After enjoying retirement in Nepean and Kanata, Cliff and Ina moved to Brockville, Ontario in November, 2013. Friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Center (2500 Baseline Road) on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 3 p.m until time of memorial service in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
