Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Jan. 10, 2014, Mr. John Newman of Englee, NL in his 94th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires sons Junior (Arlene) and Perry (Lenita); daughters Juanita (Norm), Olive, Shirley (Scott), and Glenda (Rudy); sister Mae; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Francis; as well as large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Daisy, daughter Ida, parents Theophilus and Bertha, brothers Cecil and Shem, sister Lucinda and son-in-law Gordon. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in Englee followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 with Major Henry Bingle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nipard, funeral director.
