ESTABROOKS, RITA - Rita Mae Estabrooks, age 86, of Sussex, formerly of Sackville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex. Born in Point de Bute, she was the daughter of the late Tory and Fida (Throop) Estabrooks. Rita was very artistic, she enjoyed painting, charcoal drawings, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She loved her dogs and cats. Rita was a former employee with Tribune Printing. She was very proud of her two daughters, Linda and Patricia as well as her grandson and great grandson. Rita will be deeply missed by her brother, George Estabrooks of Sackville; daughters, Patricia (John Jamieson) Allen of Sussex Corner, and Linda (Rodney) Cunningham of Fredericton; grandson, Richard (Jennifer Paul) Hodsmyth and great grandson Richard William Zachary Hodsmyth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2 pm from the funeral home, Rev. Wendy Amos-Binks officiating. Burial will take place in the Midgic Cemetery at a later date.
