FOWLER, RALPH DOUGLAS - It is with sadness the family announces the unexpected death of Ralph Douglas Fowler of Wickham, NB, which occurred on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1937 in Saint John, NB, the son of the late Douglas and Jean (Blair) Fowler. Ralph is survived by his five daughters Kate, Mary (Gordon MacLean) of Campobello, Alexandra (Rev David) Barrett of Quispamsis, Barb (Tim) Dobbin of Belleisle and Sue (Jeff) Foster of Ottawa; his grandchildren Emma, Ryan, and Molly Fowler-Ross, Hannah, Elizabeth, and Rachel Barrett, and Justin, Malorie, and Emily Dobbin; his great-granddaughter Madison Snodgrass; his companion Carol Cormier and her sons Mike (Shelly), Mark (Rhonda), and Jeffrey (Karen). He was predeceased by his grandson Aaron Douglas Dobbin.
Ralph was a proud Teamster and had a great love of the water. He spent many years cruising the Saint John River on the Papa Joe with his family and friends. Ralph had a sharp wit and was a great storyteller. He retired from the Province of New Brunswick after many years as a Worker's Advocate in the Workers Compensation Program.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home (506) 832-5541, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. Funeral Service, conducted by Archdeacon David Barrett, will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2 pm from the St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 239 Quispamsis Road, with reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
