HERSEY, DOROTHY MAY - Dorothy May Hersey, 90, of King St Miramichi, passed away on Friday January 24, 2014 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in England the daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Richards) Wickens. Dorothy was a avid bingo and card player at the senior complex where she lived. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Dorothy Susan Hedquist (Thomas) of St. Margaret's, Joan Godin (Norbert) of Saint john, sons: Fred Hersey (Clair) of Ottawa, Bob Hersey (Jeanette) of Edmonton AB. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, special friends: Anne Comeau and Margie Whalen. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Fred Hersey daughter; Pauline, granddaughter Valerie and grandson Ricky.
Dorothy Hersey will be resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Monday 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at 11am from St. Michael's Basilica Miramichi with Fr John Fraser officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St Michael's Renovation Fund would be appreciated.
