Dmytro Abramyk
September 18, 1928 – January 30, 2014


With heavy hearts and many wonderful memories, the family of Dmytro “Metro” Abramyk, announce his passing on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the age of 85. Metro will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean of 62 years and their 8 children Dianne (Henri) Briere, Fred (Angel Ross), Terry Fjeld (Don Wood), Maryanne (Lorne) Schmidt, Steven (Gaylene), Cathy (George) Hoffman, Matthew, and Elaine (Don) Klassen; daughter-in-law Sonia Abramyk; their 29 grandchildren Lauren (Cheryl) Briere, Christy Briere (Bob Wyonzek), Carla Snow, Jessica, Laureena and Landon Abramyk, Jolene (Mark) Ferguson, Amy Profeta, Rebecca (Russell) Clarke, Shelby, Wylie, Heidi, Jonathan and Dezyrae Abramyk, Alexandra and Madison Fjeld, Ashlee and Brennan Schmidt, Clarissa, Justin, Deyna, and Nathan Abramyk, Caylah (Kyle) Casavant, Zachary, Kohle and Keaghan Hoffman, Chelsie and Jonathan Breeze; 12 great-grandchildren Corwin and Kaitlynn Briere, Jordan, Brooklyn and Avery Snow, Jakob Schmidt, Gunner Ferguson, Noah, Grace and Elisha Clarke, Mateo and Gabe Profeta; sisters-in-law Adeline and Helen; brother-in-law Eddie Ruszkowski; his wife’s brothers and sister and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Rose (Moskwa) Abramyk; his brothers Sam, Steve, John, Mike and Paul and sisters Mary, Sophie and Ann; his son Walter; and sons-in-law Leroy Fjeld and Lorne Breeze. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 with Dianne Briere officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 with Celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Both services will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Herb Bassett Nursing Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
