Albert Falk

Date de décès : 24 janvier 2014

Albert Falk, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at the Herbert Integrated Facility.
Albert was born in the village of Kronsweide, in the province of Ukraine, Russia on May 21, 1923, to Wilhelm & Katherina Falk. In 1925, together with his parents, and his siblings, Hertha and Bernard, he immigrated to Canada, settling in Herbert, SK, where his father’s relatives had settled. They settled on the homestead seven miles north of Herbert.
Albert attended Coxley School for grades 1 – 10. Then he attended the Herbert Bible School for three years. During the war years, being the eldest son, Albert stayed and worked on the farm. He was able to return to school and completed his grade 12 in 1947. In 1950, Albert married Nettie Neufeld and together they bought their own place, a few miles north of his parents farm. It was here they raised their five children and spent many happy years as the family grew.
In 1980, Albert & Nettie moved into Herbert. Albert worked as administrator of the Herbert Senior Home, for about 8 years and enjoyed his tenure there. Throughout his life Albert volunteered on many committees and boards.
He learned to know about God from his parents. Through his years he grew in his faith and was strong in his convictions about his walk with God. He came to realize that his relationship with God was more about God’s love and what God had done for him rather than what he could do for God. To quote Albert’s penned words, “When I stand before God it is only by God’s grace that I stand there at all.”
