JONES, Russell Stewart – age 73, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014, at home. Born on February 2, 1941, in Berwick, he was the second eldest son of the late James R. and Mildred M. (Kelley) Jones. Russell worked at Larsen Packers Ltd., Berwick, for over 25 years, where he was Supervisor over his area until retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch No. 69, Berwick. Russell enjoyed taking short drives each day and if you were outside he would stop and talk. He loved to have company, was an avid gardener and enjoyed giving away most of what he grew. Surviving are his former wife, Marie (Johnson) Jones, Berwick; sons, Timothy (Jo-Ann) Jones, Waterville; Gordon Jones, Berwick; daughter, Penny (Martin) Steeves, Suffield, Alta..; grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy), Berwick and Brendan Jones, Waterville; Patrick, Medicine Hatt, Alta and Dylan Steeves, Suffield, Alta; great-granddaughter, Kinzie, Berwick; brothers, Roger and Gary (Maria) Jones, Brampton, Ont.; Greg Jones, Berwick; sisters, Bonita (Warren) Nickerson, Cape Sable Island; Marjorie (Lester) Murphy, Berwick; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Edith (Jones) Corkum; brother, Donald Jones. There was no visitation or funeral service. A family service at the graveside took place at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 20, in the Berwick Cemetery with Rev. Ruby Carter officiating.
