Genevieve Duke (nee Meaney) of Dunville, formerly of North Harbour - age 80 years. Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, on February 20, 2014, in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her father Alexander Meaney; husband Alphonsus; children Edward, Amelda, Mary Ellen and Daniel; two brothers Leo Meaney and Ambrose Meaney; two sisters Margret Burrell of Pennsylvania and Annie Dobbin of Harricott; Theresa and Michael Howe, Mary and Martin O'Leary and Ellen King; brother-in-law Francis Dobbin; nephews Douglas Meaney and Francis Dobbin. Leaving to mourn six children Alphonsus (Gladys), Alexander (Monina), Raymond (Theresa), Donald, Annie (Rob) and Kimberly (Jerry); eight grandchildren Rosalyn (Jim), Chad, Genevieve, Kathy, Amanda, Sabastain, Ashley and Douglas; one great-grandchild Kailee; brother Raymond Meaney (Joan); sisters Josephine Ruth and Geraldine Crane (Mike); sister-in-law Bridget Buckmaster; friend Leonard King; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Saturday, February 22 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm; and Sunday, February 23 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11:00am on Monday, February 24 at St. Anne's Church, Dunville. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Placentia. Flowers gratefully accepted.
