Passed peacefully away, after a courageous battle with Cancer, on February 22, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, Bernadette "Bun" Druken, age 52 years. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and Peter, brothers: Ron, Bernard and Gus. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son, Conner; her chosen family: Connie, Diane, Kim, Natalie, Nick and Stephanie; her sisters: Mary (Nanny), Daphne and Helen; brothers: Bill, Tom and Raymond; sister-in-law: Anna May, many nieces (special nieces: Ann, Michelle and Glenda), nephews, a number of cousins, aunts, uncles, and a large circle of friends and neighbors. The family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Michelle Hadden and Dr. Joy McCarthy for their care and attention to Bun during her battle, and the staff of the 4 North A, Health Sciences Centre for their continued care to Bun. A special thank you is extended to Brenda Murphy for her support and guidance. During Bun's 52 years on this earth she chose the path of guardian angel. For more than 30 years she was a foster mother to 38 children whose lives she guided to positive change. Her greatest gift was the love she received from her "children". God blessed her with Conner who filled her heart with love and joy. The world is a sadder place today, but so much stronger, by having been blessed by her presence if only for her short 52 years. Visitation to be held at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd., on Tuesday, February 25 and Wednesday, February 26 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Shea Heights, St. John's. Cremation to follow.
