Elizabeth Loustel

Date de décès : 17 février 2014

Loustel, Elizabeth Ann, age 66, of Swift Current, SK, passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with Lupus, on Monday, February 17th, 2014, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK, with her loving husband and her daughters by her side.
Liz was born on February 1, 1948, the youngest of 4 children born to Roy & Irene Harden. She married her high school sweetheart, Gene Loustel, on January 28, 1967, and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Patty and Kathy. Liz & Gene loved to take family holidays with their children and grandchildren. Every year, they also took an annual trip to Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. Liz loved bingo, crocheting, cooking, gambling and gardening…but the thing she loved the most was enjoying life to the fullest with her best friend, her husband. Spending time with her children, grand-children and one great-grandchild brought her such joy and she wouldn't miss any opportunity to be a part of their lives. She supported them in any way she could, whether it be teaching them to crochet, to cook, just listening or having tea parties. To those that knew her, she was a confident, strong, beautiful lady who never let on how sick she really was. She always had a smile on her face and nothing was more important to her than family and friends. Nothing made her prouder than talking about the latest accomplishments of the grandkids. The last few months, as her health declined, she enjoyed quiet moments sitting out in her gazebo or on their front deck.Liz started her career at the CIBC and then to Marsh & Siemens. Here she made many lifelong friends who have supported her over the years. In the spring of 1997, Liz suffered a stroke and she was blind to the right and no longer able to work. Liz & Gene were inseparable and shared a true love that was evident to all who knew them. After dad retired, he needed to keep busy, which meant mom was also busy…but they were one of those couples who could even paint together. Liz leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Gene; her daughters, Patty (Gary) Nykolaishen and Kathy (Daryl) Gibbs; her grandchildren, Morgan (Cody) Yates, Shania (Braden Davis) Gibbs, Sydney Schultz, Wyatt Gibbs, Payton Gibbs, Deagan Nykolaishen; her great-granddaughter, Kya Yates; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy (1964) and Irene (1975); two brothers, Glenn (1974) and Allen (1997); a sister, Darlene (1993); her in-laws, Aloysius Loustel (1980) and Elizabeth Loustel (2002); and by numerous other relatives.
As mom didn't want a Funeral Service, we will be honouring those wishes with a "Celebration of Life Service" May 10th, 2014, World Lupus Day. Time and Location will be announced at a later date. In memory of Liz Loustel, donations made to Lupus Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK. For further information or to sign the Family Book of Condolences, please go to swiftcurrentfuneralhome.com
