Loving wife of Richard Kozicz. Blaina was born January 31, 1930 in the Magdalen Islands, PQ. and passed away February 24, 2014 at Albright Manor in Beamsville, Ontario with her family by her side.
The daughter of Garfield McPhail and Alice (Prest). Blaina was the 10th of 12 children. Mother of Darlene (Murphy) Bono (Vince), Herman Murphy (Royetta), Gordon Murphy (Maryanne), George Murphy (Debbie), Kim Murphy (Jeanette), step-mother to Darlene Friedt (Jim), Donna (Darryl) Barre. Grandmother to Monica, Renee, Rachel, Dale, Amanda, Sam, Austin, Tyler, Aaron, Shane, Eric, Stephanie, Jim Jr., Summer and Donna Lee. Great-grandmother to Farrah, Quinnley, Sam, Brad, Averyana and Allie. Survived by sisters Muriel Battist, (Pictou, NS ), Joyce Donnelly and Carman Gass, (Kingston, ON).
Predeceased by six brothers, two sisters and granddaughter Jessica.

As per Blaina's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Blaina's life will take place at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery.
