It is with broken hearts we the family announce the passing of Edna Dupe on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Muriel (Davison) MacVay.
Edna enjoyed playing darts, Bingo and travelling. She loved listening to country music and was a big Willie Nelson fan.
Edna is survived by her children, Barbara (Kirk) Watson, Point Edward, Laurel Dupe (Rob), Point Aconi, Bobby Dupe, Sydney, Billy Dupe, Edmonton; her wonderful grandchildren, Shannon (Mike), Victoria, Craig, Shelby, her precious great granddaughter, Haylee; brother, Robert (Norma) MacVay, Sydney; several nieces, nephews and many great friends, as well as her pets, the cat, Willie Nelson and her dog, Jett.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert 'Bobby' Dupe, and brother William 'Billy' MacVay.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Myatt and the palliative care staff for the wonderful care given to Edna during her stay.
