The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, of Joseph Gerard "Gerry" Arsenault of Summerside, and formerly of Mont-Carmel, aged 71 years. Gerry was born on April 17, 1942, in St. Gilbert, to his late parents Andrew Arsenault and Jacqueline (nee Arsenault) Gallant. Beloved husband of 45 years to Zelma (nee Gallant) Arsenault and loving father of Shelley Arsenault-McBean of Summerside, Blake Arsenault, daughter-in-law LeeAnn Arsenault of Red Deer, AB., and son-in-law Rob McBean of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren Carter, Katie and Charlie McBean and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Jean-Eudes Gallant, Jim (Zita) Gallant, Leonie (Lloyd) Perry, Adrien (Jackie) Gallant, Jeanne Gallant, Paul Gallant and Cecile (Reg) Robichaud. Besides his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his sister-in-law Maureen Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Friday, April 4, then to St. Paul's church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Gerry's memory to P.E.I. Addiction Services, St. Paul's Parish Building Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
