Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center on Sunday April 6, 2014. Born in Summerville Bonavista Bay, NL on December 29, 1928. Predeceased by his parents Samson and Rachel Humby; his brothers: Mansfield, and Hezekiah. Herman is survived by his loving wife Pearl of 58 years; his children: Diane Codner (Donald), Kenneth (friend, Gail), and Sherry (Fred); his grandchildren: Adam Codner (Nicole), Nathan Codner (Kindi), Morgan Humby, and Tessa Humby (Christina); his great grandchildren: Kaden Codner, and Carley Codner; a special nephew Clarence Humby (Floss), as well as a large number of relatives and friends. Herman was a passionate man who enjoyed working with wood. He worked many years as a home builder and renovator. In his spare time he built various things with wood and loved working on one of his favorite passions model schooners. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday April 8, 2014 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrett's Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2pm, interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
