(September 26, 1932- April 5, 2014) - Retired CN Railway employee of 38 years. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of Cyril announce his passing at the Health Science Center surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his father Michael and mother Margaret; brother William; father and mother-in-law Sterling and Edna Thomas; brothers-in-law: Wilson (Copper) Leyte and Ed Dawe. Leaving to mourn the love of his life, best friend, and wife of 57 years Meryl; four daughters: Debbie (Eric White), Susan Gaudet (Serge), Roslyn O'Brien (Walter), and Karen Gosse (Jim); two sons: Cyril (Debbie), and Bill (Michelle); seven grandchildren: Leigh, Dayna, Sarah, Jessica, Joseph, Michael, and Victoria; three great grandchildren: Vyktor, Myles, and Lydia; two sisters: Mary Leyte, and Gertrude Karapita (Alec); two brothers-in-law: Clifford Thomas (Evelyn), and Cecil Thomas (Gwen); sister-in-law June Dawe, also leaving to mourn special friends Harold and Phyllis Coish and Evelyn Parsons, and many more friends and neighbours too numerous to mention. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Avenue on Monday April 7, 2014 and Tuesday April 8, 2014 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm, and Wednesday April 9, 2014 from 10am - 12 noon. Funeral service will be held at The Salvation Army Citadel, Mt. Pearl on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 2pm, interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
