ABERCROMBIE – We regret to announce the passing of Amelia “Mae” (Jennings) Svendsen on April 8, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Stellarton on Jan. 5, 1917, she resided in Abercrombie for most of her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Anna; sons: Gary (Teri); Doug (Stacy); Stanley (Rose) and Shane (Sandy); as well as 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Svend, and daughters Vera and Lis.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday from Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VON or Pictou County SPCA.
