With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our loving Mother, Charlotte Cameron on April 22, 2014.
Born In Ross Ferry, Victoria Co., to the late James and Christine Fraser (MacDonald).
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Gordon Yorke 1954 and Dan J. Cameron 1988; brothers George and John Rory; sisters Sadie Lane, Mary Tina Fraser, Jane MacInnes, Christine Fraser.
She is survived by her children, Ann Johnston (Earl), Donna Reid, Gary (Cory MacGillivary), Danny (Shelley), Pauline, Shaun (Janet); grandchildren, Laura (Nick Eld), Doug, Robyn, Ashley, Marc, Kenzie, Jackson, Spencer, Riley, Taylor, Aaron and great-grandchild Jonathan. She is also survived by her dear sister Jessie, whom she helped raise after their mother’s passing. Charlotte also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mom devoted her life to raising her family. She was happiest when surrounded by family, especially Sunday dinners. Mom touched the lives of all who knew her; she was a pleasant lady with a sharp, devilish wit. One of her favorite sayings was "forgive and forget; it's not my nature to be unkind." She loved to laugh, and her love was unconditional.
Donations can be made to the Drummond Memorial United Church fund, Palliative Care/VON, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Lung Association.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 12-2 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Coole officiating.
