OSBORNE, ROWENA - It is with great sadness that the family of Rowena S. Osborne of Gagetown, NB announce her passing on April 26th, 2014 at the Orchard View Long Term Care facility. She was born in Summer Hill, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Walter and Ida (Kerr) Donald. Besides her parents, Rowena was predeceased by her husband Deveber Osborne; daughter Sandra Osborne; and brother Kenneth Donald. Rowena is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan McNally and Patricia (Scott) Dykeman, great-grandchildren Damara, Zachary and Aaron; son-in-law Bob McNally; sister Lillian (Johnny) Campbell; sister-in-law Lois Donald; cousin Margaret Nowlan; several nieces and a nephew; and her god-daughter Linda Osborne. Her grandchildren were a great love in her life. She loved all children dearly and became Nana Row to many. Rowena worked at the Protestant Orphanage in Saint John and then at Appleby’s Book Bindery for over thirty years. She was a member of the ACW and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Rowena lived life to its fullests, enjoying dances, card parties and time with her family and friends. A special thank-you to the staff at Orchard View for their compassionate care in her last years of life.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held at the St. John’s Anglican Church in Gagetown on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sandra Hounsell Drover officiating. A reception to celebrate Rowena’s life will be held at the Guild Hall following the service and interment. For those who wish, a memorial tribute may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Orchard View Foundation. www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca
