JEAN, CARPENTER- The death of Juanita “Jean” Carpenter, age 94, of Gagetown formerly of Cambridge-Narrows, NB, occurred at the Orchard View Long Term Care Home on Friday, May 2, 2014. She was the wife of the late Talbert Carpenter. Born in Big Cove, Queens Co, on November 1, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Zena (Akerley) Akerley. Jean is survived by her sons, Gerald Emery Carpenter (Alice Lee Craft) of Cambridge-Narrows and Merle Carpenter of Cambridge-Narrows; grandchildren, Jennifer and David; great grandchildren Spencer, Sophia and Talmadge; godson Mark Walter; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Belyea and Ada Koehenn; and brother Arnold Akerley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) Norton, NB, where visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Aubrey Trail presiding. Interment will take place in the Cambridge Baptist Cemetery, Cambridge-Narrows, NB.
