Esther Stobbs (nee Ravndahl), late of Brancepeth, SK passed away peacefully, comforted by her family, in Prince Albert, SK on May 5, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Esther was born in Birch Hills, SK on November 24, 1929. She attended school in Iranistan, Lake Park, Brancepeth, before finishing in Birch Hills. On February 25th, 1950, Esther married Harold Humphrey Stobbs. Esther was a dedicated homemaker and raised four children; she was a member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW), as well as singing with the Watsonaires, and playing guitar and singing with the Grid Road Strummers. She loved ceramic classes, quilting and needle point art. Esther was an avid sports fan and loved to travel, the Blue Jays will miss her. Esther loved everyone and in return was loved by all. She had strong values and influenced more people, with these values, than she realized. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther will be lovingly remembered by her children: David (Janet), Donald (Candice), Teddie (Linda) and Joanne (Larry); her grandchildren: Corey, Laurie (Rick), Trevor (Christy), Meghan (Burke), Hayley (Danny), Jenna (Matthew), Ryan (Hilary), Adena (Kurtis), Patrick, Kristy (Shea), Brandon (Tristen), Teena (Andy), Courtney and Dean (Lana); her great-grandchildren: Shelton, Justin, Andrew, Jessica, Kolbie, Madden, Kiana, Keagan and Carter; her sister Bernice (Doug) Cleghorn; her brother Stan (Pat) Ravndahl; her bother-in-law John Roy (Shirley) Stobbs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Esther was predeceased by her parents: Thorvald & Olava (nee Hergistad) Ravndahl; her brother and sister-in-law: Thorstein & May Ravndahl; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Johanna & Earl Jarvis and Infrid & Tiff Carriere; her father and mother-in-law John Thomas & Blanche (nee Young) Stobbs; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Verda & Larry Gilmore, Jim & Dorothy Stobbs; Lloyd & Enid Stobbs, Floyd Stobbs and Catherine & Bob Braaten; and her granddaughter: Tracy Stobbs. In lieu of other tributes the family requests donations be to the charity of the donor’s choice. A private family prayer service will be held. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 - 5:00 pm, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK with Rev. Chris Dow officiating. Lunch to follow.
