The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, May 8, 2014, of Dora Laviolette, St. Edward, aged 77 years. Beloved wife of Irving Laviolette, St. Edward. She was born in St. Edward on Sept. 10, 1936, the daughter of the late Alphy and May (Dugay) Gaudet. Loving mother to Gail, Alberton; Dale (Nancy), St. Felix; Stanford (Tanya), Summerside; Arlene (Kevin), St. Louis; Marie (Melvin) Hustler, Alberton; Debbie (Bobby), Alberton; Clifford (Judy), Hamilton, ON; Bradford (Stella), Summerside; Darlene (Terry) LeClair, Alberton; Alfred (Linda), Stoney Creek, ON; and Wilfred (Donna), Summerside. Cherished grandmother to 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Dear sister to the following brothers and sisters, the late George (Ruth) Gaudet, Miminegash; Henry (Phyllis) Gaudet, Leo Gaudet (Shirley), Bernadette (Gerard) Gallant, Alice (Edlow) Gallant, Peter Gaudet (Cathy), Francis (Claudia) Gaudet all of St. Edward; Stella (Phillip) Gallant, St. Louis; Rita Chaisson (Edward), St. Peter & St. Paul; Theresa Arsenault (Nelson), Tignish; Pat (Debbie) Gaudet, Dunsville, ON. She was predeceased by her parents Alphy and May, son Louie in infancy, brother George and in-laws Mary Rose and Louis Laviolette. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 9-10 a.m. Funeral will be held Monday, May 12, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, where funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Arthur Sequeira at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
