Lennie DeVenne MacDougall – 81 of Stellarton passed away, May 8, 2014 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her family by her side. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late John Alexander and Grace Isabel (DeVenne) Mackenzie.
Lennie was a resident of Stellarton where she was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, where she was a member of the U.C.W. and had served on the Board of Stewards. She was a former employee with Maritime Tel and Tel in both New Glasgow and Halifax. Lennie loved “SHOPPING”, entertaining and playing cards especially, bridge and 45’s.
She is survived by her husband Raymond, Stellarton; daughter Jacqueline, Stellarton; sister June Kalbfleisch, Trenton; niece Marie (Randy) Slivocka, nephew Fred and his wife Marcella and their sons Inaki and Stesan of Chile and four legged companion Holly.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday, May 12th, 2014 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home Chapel, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton with Rev. Jim Schaffner officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. The burial will take place in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Lennie may be made to the Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
