It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary “Lena” Wells announce her passing at the Western Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving partner Dennis Payne; children: Marcheta Hussey (Rick), Gordon Wells, Loretta Wells (John), Michelle Wells (Rockey), and Robbie-Lynn Churchill (Dennis); step-children: Michelle Payne and Melissa Gaulton; her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia MacDonald (Mike), Caroline Russell (Woodrow), Irene Joyce (Charles), and Eileen Sheppard, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Arthur Wells (1990); parents Thomas & Ruth Hunt; sister Amanda George; step-children Ashley Keeping and Dennis Payne Jr. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In keeping with Mary Lena’s wishes cremation will take place. The funeral service will take place from Country Haven Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Father Ambrose Hynes. Interment will follow from Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the family or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
