CAREW (McKay), Shirley Christine - age 75, Alberta/Aylesford, passed away Dec. 11, 2013, from a battle with cancer. Born in Aylesford, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Stedman C. and Dorothy A. McKay. Shirley enjoyed Knitting, crocheting and was very active with the Royal Canadian Legion. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family. Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, Andy; sons, Terry (Wanda), Alberta; Michael (Sandra), Vancouver, BC.; and Ronald (Susan), Alberta; grandchildren, Jennifer, David, Aiden, Daniel, Andrew and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Jade, Ebony, Savannah, and Alena; brothers, Wayne (Velma) Factorydale; Dale (Jeannie Jones) and Perry (Gail), both of Aylesford; Frederick (Arlene) Auburn; Larry (Penny Gates), Aylesford; sisters, Donna Schofield, Cambridge; Bonnie (Wayne) Spurr, Aylesford; Elizabeth (Sheldon) Lenihan, Berwick; Joann (Barry) Murphy Lr. Sackville; Catherine (Ed) Pelton, Kentville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother, Kenny and sisters, Edith and Linda. Memorial service will be held at the Aylesford Baptist Church, 2546 Hwy No. 1 Aylesford, at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 31, with Rev. Clyde Lowe officiating.
