Joy, Kevin M.

Passed away peacefully at Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, St. Johns, May 29, 2014. Age 92. Leaving to morn, his loving wife Irene (Bradbury), sons E.J (Dot), Doug and daughter, Gail. Grandsons Stephen and Paul (Krista); and great grandson, Hudson. Born in Bay Roberts, NL, WWII Veteran Kevin served from 1940 to 1946 as a Wireless Air Gunner with 201 SQDN RAF and Air Transport Command until released in 1946. Re-enlisted in the RCAF 1952 and served as an Officer in the Air Services Branch, Search and Rescue until his retirement, 1967. Special thanks to the staff, nurses, and doctors of the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends have visited the family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, May 30, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service has taken place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jim Shield’s Memorial Garden at the Caribou Veterans Pavilion, or to a charity of one’s choice.
