Passed away peacefully on June 14, 2014, at the Lion's Manor Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Violet Griffin. He follows his brothers and sisters to heaven and will be with them once more. Left to mourn their beloved father - Ann (Tony), Margaret (Dermot), Mary (Michael), Patrick (Jacqueline), Georgina (Robert), Barbara, Phillip and Gerard (Juanita). He is dearly missed by his 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with hearts full of love. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and many friends. He was known to be a beloved father, grandfather and friend to many. One was always met with a kind word and greeting each day. Gerard worked hard all his life up until 2008 when he stopped as caretaker at the Meadowbrook Villa. The family wishes to thank the members and staff of the Lion's Manor and Hannah and Peter's Haven who gave our father comfort and time spent with him these last few years. Visitation to begin on Monday, June 16, and Mass is to be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in St. Bride's.
