CORRIE, ALLAN - Allan George Corrie of New Maryland, NB passed away peacefully with his son by his side on Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at the Chalmer’s Regional Hospital at 82 years. Allan was born in Kenora, Ontario on July 9th, 1931 son of the late George and Jessie Corrie. He is survived by his son, Allan, Jill; grandsons, Zachary and Nicolas and brother, George. Allan worked as a welder/pipe fitter until he retired in 1997 at the age of 65. He was a member of Steam fitter/Welders UA 401. Allan was a wonderful dad and grandfather who truly loved his family and was especially proud of his grandsons. He worked hard throughout his life and always shared what he had with others who required help in any way. Being born in 1931 he somewhat believed “no such thing as the good old days”. Allan truly enjoyed the Fredericton legion dances, his friends and telling jokes. He had a sweet tooth as he always had room for desert. He loved to watch golf, baseball, go fishing and walking his pet dogs.
By Allan’s request there will be no visitation. Grave side service and interment will be at the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, New Maryland, NB on Thursday, June 19th, 2014 at 2:00 pm with pastor Larry Matthews officiating. A time for fellowship with family and friends will follow the interment at the church. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Fredericton Men’s Shelter or the Fredericton Food Bank.
