The death occurred suddenly at his late residence on Sunday, Dec. 28th, 2008, of Emmett Joseph Young of Notre Dame. Street, Summerside, P.E.I., aged 64 years. Emmett was born on Jan. 25, 1944, in Summerside, P.E.I., to his late parents, George and Marjorie (nee Gallant) Young. Survived by his wife, Peggy, of Summerside, his daughter, Lou, of Ontario and his stepchildren, Marie (Todd) Myers, of Miscouche, Cathy (Peter) Robinson, of Kentville, N.S., Mike Arsenault, of Freetown and Kenny (Faye) Arsenault, of Edmonton, Alta. . Also survived by his sisters, Hazel Gallant, of Summerside, Pat (Tabot) Ross, of Moncton, N.B., Irene (Anthony) Gallant, of St. Nicholas and Reggie (Betty) Young, of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Emmett was predeceased by his parents, George and Marjorie Gallant and also her second husband, Elmer Slavin, his stepdaughter, Tracy Arsenault, and his brother, Harold Young. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. . Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Emmett’s memory to the Spinibifida Association would be greatly appreciated.
