It is with deepest sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, Lucy Jane Young on June 24, 2014. She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Edward Young; mother Annie Newman Chard; brothers: Edward (Ted) Newman and Walter Newman; brothers-in-law: Harry Young, Jim Young, Jack Young; sister-in-law Helen Young Lawson; daughter-in-law Donna Vardy Young; and great-grandson Hudson Brentwood Young. Leaving to mourn her sons: Richard Young and wife Carol Ann, Terry Young and wife Thelma, and Edward (Ned) Young; daughters: Loretta Young and Charlotte Young Langdon; sisters: Charlotte Jackson and Joan Andrews; brother Hugh Newman; sisters-in-law: Marg Newman, Ruth Newman and Viola Newman; grandchildren: Brigham, Robby, Timmy, Brent, Lori, Roxanne, Jason and Evan Young, and Chad and John Langdon; great-grandchildren: Jake, Amy, Liam, Carter, Drew, Madison, Jessica, Lucas and Pyper; many loving nieces and nephews with special closeness to her namesake Lucille Newman Shears and Charlotte Ann Jackson; also many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the nurses at Escasoni 3 West and Hoyles 2 West to whom we are so grateful for their support and kindness. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral Service to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 from Barrett's Mount Pearl Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
