At Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, surrounded by her family, Rose MacNevin passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014.
She was the daughter of Lauretta and R.T. White and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Rose grew up on Elm Avenue (University Avenue) with her brothers and sisters: Roy, Russell, May, Eleanor, Edith and Myrtle.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, L.G. MacNevin; her daughter, Susan; and her grandson, Michael.
She is survived by her children: Heather (Wayne) Davidson, Vicki (Etienne) Theriault, Al (Sue), Harry (Linda), Myrt (David Lee-Thompson) and Joyce (Robb) Knight. Rose was Grammie to 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful Mom, Grammie and Great-Grammie and will be sadly missed by all.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where the funeral will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment in The People's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 27, from 3-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Rose may be made to Zion Church - Susan MacNevin Outreach Fund or Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation - Michael MacNevin Memorial Fund.
