HOOPER, MILDRED AUGUSTA - The family of Mildred A. Hooper sadly announce her passing at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Mildred was the eldest child of the late Lloyd and Emily (Brown) Seamans, born in Caithness, NB on October 12, 1919. She was the widow of Guilford P. Hooper (2013), having a marriage of 76 years. During the past year, Mildred resided at the St. Stephen Seniors Complex, previously maintained homes in St. George, Back Bay and Chamcook. Mildred was an employee of Connors Bros. in Back Bay for a number of years, but first and foremost was a devoted homemaker which gave her great satisfaction. Her interests included camping, CB, TV, reading and most especially the lives of her grand and great-grandchildren. Mildred is survived by sons Ron (Betty) of Petitcodiac and Glenn (Jean) of St. Andrews. Also survived by grandchildren, Margo, Janis, Robert (Shelley) and Ron (Crystal) Hooper; step-grandchildren, Mary Beth (Jeff) Johnson and Andrew (Jeannette) Brewer; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Peyton, Liam and Genevieve Hooper; step-great-grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Ben Brewer and Rebecca Eagle. Other survivors include sister Phyllis Thomas of Brockway NB and Jack Seamans of Stony Creek ON, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Mildred was predeceased by sister Lois Cooke and brothers Burton, Ralph and Rufus Seamans.
By Mildred’s request, there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George, NB on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon John Matheson officiating. In Mildred’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
