COCHRANE, Harold Duncan - Age 94 of Sherbrooke Lake, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Brooklyn, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Poole) Cochrane. Harold was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was wounded in action. Harold also worked for F. S. Etter & Sons and was a janitor at Brooklyn District School. He spent 20 years on the West Coast, retiring back to Sherbrooke Lake, where he enjoyed many years woodworking in his basement. He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Dave) Upright and Susan (Dennis) Cochrane; grandchildren, Chris; Tracey (Sherri); Jason (Angela); great-grandchildren, Jayden Cochrane; Charlotte and Amelia Upright and their mother, Jody Enright. Harold was predeceased by his wife, Daisy (Williams); sisters, Lavinia “Venie” Etter, Sophie Hawboldt and Eva Curry; brothers, Norman, Claude, Ralph and Gordon. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 14. A private combined graveside service for Harold and Daisy will be held at a later date. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory of Harold may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
