It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randall (Randy) Conrad Avram, age 62, on Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. Randy was born on August 18, 1951 in Avonlea, SK and grew up in Parry, Rouleau, and Regina, SK. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1973, and later achieved his Chartered Accountant designation. He worked in public practice in Regina, then Vancouver and White Rock for several years before returning to Saskatchewan, where he operated a small motel in Swift Current with his family. He also returned to public practice at Stark & Marsh Chartered Accountants. Randy was an excellent golfer and represented Saskatchewan on four Willingdon Cup teams. He held the course record at the Royal Regina Golf Club for many years with a score of 63. An enthusiastic sports fan, he amassed an impressive collection of sports memorabilia over the years. Randy loved all kinds of music and held a special place in his heart for his Romanian heritage. Missing Randy will be his wife, Elaine Avram; his three children: Ben Avram, Elena (Terry) Burns, and Katie Avram; his mother, Helen (Peter) Kosteniuk; his two brothers: Kevin Avram and Phil Avram; and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Wilson; his father, Constantine Avram; and his cat, Koko.
The Celebration of Life Come & Go Tea was held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Elmwood Golf Club, Swift Current, SK. In memory of Randy Avram, donations made to Golf Saskatchewan – Junior Development Program or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan would be appreciated by the family.
