The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, July 27, 2014, of Frances "Fran" Adelaide MacKinnon (nee Myers) in her 78th year. Fran was born on June 9, 1936, in Victoria, P.E.I., to her late parents Frank and Florence (nee Profitt) Myers. Beloved wife of the late Douglas MacKinnon and loving mother of Ron (Donna), Jack (Connie) all of Crapaud and Larry (Cindy) of Hampton. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kirk (Mallory), Amanda MacKinnon-Visser (Jordan), Kelly MacKinnon (Mike), Alexis Lord (Michael), Spencer (Katelyn), Ellen Stetson (Tobin) and Mitch (Kate) and her great-grandchildren Jane, D.J., Gavin and Danica. Survived by her sister Jean Profitt and her brother Sheldon (Marilyn) Myers all of Crapaud, her sisters-in-law Mildred MacKinnon of Clyde River and Mildred (William) Darrach of Norwood, Mass., along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Fran was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Dean Profitt and Ralph MacKinnon. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, until Thursday, July 31, then to St. John's Anglican Church, Crapaud, for a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. John's Anglican Church, Crapaud, or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud.
