Hilda Seeley Earle
(June 24, 1923 - August 08, 2014)

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved Mother and Grandmother Hilda Earle (nee Dawe) on Friday, August 08, 2014, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL. Predeceased by parents Sarah (Butt) and George Dawe, husband Ewen, sister Evelyn Lane, baby sister Jean Dawe, brothers Clarence, Jack, Victor, Ken, and Bert. Left to cherish fond memories are her children Daphne (Cyril) Ings, Maxine (Don) Wheeler, Glenn Earle, Wayne (Wanda) Earle, Vera (Paul) O'Keefe and Verna (Barry) Mehaney-Schalin as well as 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sister Millicent Harris, brother Eric (Marie) Dawe and extended family, and many friends at Tiffany Village, which has been her home for the last five years.

Mom retired from a long teaching career and was very much involved in the community. She was an organist with the Summerford United Church for over fifty years, member of the UCW, and served as Sunday School Teacher / Superintendent and with the local chapter of the Canadian Red Cross. Mom believed in the adage "Better to Give Than to Receive" and contributed in various capacities to many charitable organizations.

Visitation and interment have taken place in Summerford. Donations can be made in mom's memory to a charity of one's choice.
