MARTIN, RITA - (1920 - 2014) - ROGERSVILE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Martin, spouse of the late Wilfred Martin, at the Foyer Assomption of Rogersville, on Friday, August 15, 2014, at the age of 94. Born in Collette, March 4th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Georges Gaudet and the late Laura Lagacé. She is survived by seven daughters: Angéla (Eloie Martin) from Collette, Laudia (Bill McClaren) from St. Andrews, Thélerise (Roger Bouchard) from St. John, NB, Corinne (Fernand Gallant) from Collette, Cécile (Gérard Melanson) from Grande Cache, Alb, Bernadette (Ivan Gaudet) from St. John, NB, and Simonne (Gilles Arseneault) from Moncton; four sons: Norman (late Rose) from Rogersville, Henrie (Linda) from Pointe du Chêne, Fernand (Huberte) from Collette, and Armand (Charline) from Moncton; one sister: Béatrice (late Aldéric Légère) from Toronto; two sisters-in-law: Alma (late Emile Martin) and Doreen (late Calixte Gaudet), as well as 35 grandchildrMarten, 33 great-grand children, four great great- grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Rita was a volunteer at the Foyer Assomption for several years. She was predeceased by two infant daughters: Léa & Thélerise; one son, Calixte; two sisters: Yvonne and Louise, as well as four brothers: Calixte, Léopold, Emile and Henri.
The family is now receiving visitors at the salon “La Colombe” in Rogersville. The funeral service will be held at the St-François-de-Sales RC Church in Rogersville, on Monday, August 18th, at 11:30 am. Visiting hours: Monday, August 18th from 10am until the funeral. Donations in memory of Rita can be made to Foyer Assomption of Rogersville or the Collette cemetery.
