Kitty Montess Stevenson
December 19, 1964 – September 1, 2014
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Kitty Montess Stevenson, late of Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 49 years. Kitty was predeceased by her father Thomas Hastings; brother Andy Hastings; father-in-law Gene Stevenson. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 33 years Gerald “Jay” Stevenson; children Vanessa (Kevin) and Jonathan (Amanda); grandchildren Nico, Nigel, and Baby Stevenson due October 5; goddaughter Shaylin. Kitty also leaves to mourn her mother Juanita (Bill) Barnes; mother-in-law Violet Stevenson; brothers Dennis (Michelle) Hastings, Michael (Gloria) Hastings, and Tom (Shana) Hastings. Kitty had many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that will always hold a piece of her heart. In 1979, Kitty met her soul-mate Jay. They married on December 4, 1981. Hand in hand they started their journey; welcoming their children Vanessa and Jonathon and in later years grandchildren Nico and Nigel. They were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby Stevenson in October. You could tell by the sparkle in her eye that family meant everything to Kitty. She was thought of by so many as a second mom. Kitty was loved by all. She will be fondly remembered as the glue that held us together. For whatever the reason, “Coffee at Kitty’s” would make everything right. Kitty had a love for bingo but her true passion was family. You just had to call and Kitty was there. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services, 1265 Scarth Street, Regina, SK. Celebration of Life Barbeque will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Jay and Kitty’s, 1031 Coteau Street West, Moose Jaw, SK, for family and friends starting at 1:00 p.m. It is a come and go or stay and visit event. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family invites you to write a letter of special memory which will be kept in a family memorial binder to be viewed and cherished in memory of Kitty.
