We, the family, announce the death of our dear brother, father, grandfather, Yvon Aucoin on Aug. 10, 2014 in Gananoque, Ont. at the age of 81.
Yvon was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Deveau) Aucoin.
He was born in St. Joseph duMoine and moved with his family to New Waterford at age nine.
During his career in the Canadian Army, he served under the United Nations in Korea with the Royal Canadian Signals Corp.; also NATO in Germany and Peacekeepers in Egypt.
After leaving the services, he was employed as a commissionaire at the National Arts Museum, Ottawa.
Predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann (Morton) in 1998.
Yvon is survived by daughter, Cathie Jackson; two sons, Joey (Kim) and Doug; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also survived by one brother, Albert (Norma), Sydney; sisters, Rita, Leona Sheppard, New Waterford, Rachelle Nugent, Sydney, Isabelle MacLennan (Dan) Benacadie, Justine Ryan, Dartmouth, Margaret Saniga (Melvin), Brampton, Ont.
Besides his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Clarence; sister-in-law, Lizzie (Gallant); brother-in-law, Evelyn Sheppard.
A graveside service was held in Gananoque.
A memorial mass is planned for a later date in New Waterford.
