BOWER, (Davis) Margaret Marie, July 23, 1931 - September 10, 2014. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and dear friend to many. Born in Shelburne she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Maude (Deschamp) Davis. She was the last remaining member of her family. On February 10, 1950 she married the love of her life, Manus Lloyd Bower. Mom touched the heart of many with her special ways; you were always welcomed in her home for a cup of steeped tea, cookies and cake. She was known to have made the best corned beef and cabbage and rhubarb pie. Her Christmas cake and homemade preserves were the best around. Her son Glen`s favorite – Mom’s rice and raisin pudding. She was a wonderful mom and loved us all unconditionally. As a young girl mom worked for Dr. Churchill and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Winegart as a housekeeper and at Chesley Goulden`s Garage in Birchtown. She is survived by her sons Lloyd (Marie), Burnley (Sandra), both of Birchtown Glen (Diane) of Welshtown, and her daughter Susan (David Messenger) of Doctor’s Cove where mom had resided for the past five years. Survived by her grandchildren Joey, Gina, Barrett, Teresa, Lisa, Richard, step grandchildren Shelly Davis, Jody & Ian Nickerson, Jennifer & Robin Messenger, great grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Trinity, Sandy, Morgan and Sierra, step great grandson Matthew Nickerson, great great granddaughter Tiashina, her special cousin Barbara Ann (Ross) Whynot, Liverpool, nieces, Lorraine (Edgar) Pierce, C.S.I., Sharon Boyd, Pugwash, her special friends Nellie Goreham, Cheryl Benjamin, Donna Rideout, Joan Smith and Darlene Pask, sisters-in-law Blanche Davis, Leah Bower and Edith Bower, many nieces and nephews who dearly loved her, and her special loyal companion (Doggie) Colby Messenger. She is predeceased by the love of her life Manus, her son-in-law, Bruce Nickerson, brothers, Barrett, Norman, Calvin and Charles, sisters Elizabeth, Cassie, Helen, step-sister Viola. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 13 from 7 – 9 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home Shelburne where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14 with Pastor Edwin Allen officiating.
