HURLBURT – George Harry, age 83, of Yarmouth, passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on September 14, 2014 with his loving wife by his side . Born in Carleton on February 27, 1931 he was a son to the late Leonard and Eva (McGray) Hurlburt. George grew up on a farm and was a farmer and woodsman in his younger years. He then was employed by Austin’s Hurlburt’s mill for 20 years retiring due to health reasons. George was an adherent to Yarmouth North Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife Louise (Hazelton); daughter, Phyllis Hurlburt; sister, Lois LeBlanc; grandchildren, James (Taralee) Spurr, Jeff (Barb) Spurr, Tyler Best; great grandchildren, Tristin, Brianna, Kohen; step great grandchildren, Gari, Chantellie, Shayna, Mike, Harold. Besides his parents George was predeceased by daughter, Linda Spurr; sisters, Ellen Hurlburt, Leona (Larry) LeBlanc; brothers, Melbourne, Vernon (Gertrude), Harold (Elizabeth), Lawrence (Myrtle). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home South Room. A funeral service was held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Baker officiated. Interment followed in Carleton Cemetery.
