McLAUGHLIN, MELVIN - (1954 - 2014) - We are sad to announce the passing of Melvin McLaughlin, at age 60. Born in Tracadie-Sheila, he was the son of Stella Ferguson and of the late Archibald "Archie" McLaughlin. Melvin passed away on September 19th, 2014 surrounded by his family at George-L.-Dumont Hospital. Melvin started his career at the Translation Bureau where he eventually became head of the Moncton office. He then went on to work for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) where he retired as Corporate Secretary. He was the loving father of two daughters: Joelle and Camille. He is also survived by two sisters, Marena McLaughlin (Ernest Thibodeau) and Velma McLaughlin (Jean-Denis Benoit), a brother Elden McLaughlin (Gloria Doiron) and a sister-in-law Yvonne (the late Connon McLaughlin). He also leaves behind many loving nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held at La Teraz (154 Church St., Moncton) on Wednesday 24 September 2014, where the family will receive condolences from 4 pm to 6 pm, followed by an hour to commemorate his life (6 to 7). Friends and family are welcome to stay afterwards.
