We the family of Mary Hickman, announce her passing on Sept. 17, 2014, at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary was a member of the Rebekah Lodge IOOF number 14, and also of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 3,Ladies Auxiliary, Glace Bay.
Mary is survived by her sons, Earl (Gail) and Fred (Shirley); six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, sisters, Percil, Christine, Audrey, Evelyn and Vera, also brother Elwood.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, from 1-2 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. following the visitation on Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
