April 22, 1922 - September 22, 2014. Passed peacefully away at Lions Manor, Placentia, Samuel Vallis Newhook of Dunville. Predeceased by parents, Cleophas and Eliza, and brother, Reg. Leaving devoted wife Shirley; children: Gail (Ro) Temple, Donna Newhook (Jerry O'Brien), Perry, and Chris (Connie); grandchildren: Julie (Stephen), Katie (Simon), Laura, Andrew (Heidi), and Samuel Zachary; and great grandchildren: Eliza, Sarah, and Gwendolyn; sisters: Florence Spencer (Bay Roberts), Amelia Pitman (Florida) and Sylvia (Maurice) Ray (Florida); other relatives and friends. Visitation at Maher's Funeral Home in Placentia 11am - 9pm, Tuesday, September 23. Funeral Service Wednesday, September 24, 2pm at St. Martin's Church, Dunville. Interment at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sam's memory may be made to St. Martin's Memorial Fund or the Janeway Foundation.
