Marge was known by many wonderful names, especially “Gram” by her 30 grandchildren and “GG” by her 42 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Marge's kitchen was the heart of the family and community. Her door was always open for a cup of tea or something stronger, for a good chat with stories of the past and for a good ole fashion kitchen party. Marge lead a wonderful and long life filled with good friends, neighbours, and many travels. Marge was a mother figure to more than just her own children and always had wise advice for those who dropped by. Marge is well known for her bold and dry humour, her open mindedness, her storytelling of the past and her colourful language.
At the age of 99 Marge moved into Highland Manor in Neil's Harbour. We the family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Highland Manor who took such great care of her.
Visitation for the late Marjorie Elizabeth Donovan will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home in Ingonish with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Marge's life will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Parish Church in Ingonish with the Fr. Guria officiating.
Donations in memory of Marge can be made to North of Smokey Palliative Care or St. Peter’s Parish Graveyard Fund.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.fillmoreandwhitman.com.
