Annette Anne Heisler (nee Lutz) passed away suddenly but peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Annette was born on September 2, 1930 in Humboldt, SK and quickly showed her excellence in academics. She began her teaching career on her 17th birthday and taught at various schools across the province, including positions as a principal. In 1952, while teaching at a school near Mildred, she met Wilfred Heisler and they were married on August 3, 1953. They spent most of their working life in Prince Albert raising 6 children before retiring to Emma Lake full time in 1986, then moving to Saskatoon in 2008. Annette is survived and missed dearly by her loving husband Wilf; children Timothy (Sue), Donald (Sassy), Rodney, Patrice (Murray), Kathleen (Ken) and Bradley; grandchildren Matthew (Amanda), Adam (Nadia), Kristen (Marc), Katie (Jeremy), Kalyn (Evan), Paola, Zahra, Austin, Anisha and Clare; great-grandchildren Sam, Jaxon, Max, Weston, Abigail and Josephine; her sister Evelyn, brother Ozzie (Lorna), brothers-in-law Herb and John, sister-in-law Anita, brother-in-law and Wilf’s twin Alf (Jean), sister-in-law Sr. Juliana, sisters-in-law Ann and Eva, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Annette’s family, faith, friendships, career and volunteering shaped her life and were very dear to her. She enjoyed spending many summers at Emma Lake with her family, especially during her teaching years, cross-country skiing, canoeing, campfires and sing-songs, and travelling with her husband Wilf across Canada, United States, Mexico, Cuba, a 9-month trip to Europe in their motorhome (with a quick flight to Egypt and Israel), an Alaskan tour and many fishing trips in northern Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, Annette would be pleased and honoured if you would make a donation to your favourite charity. A couple of her favourites were Covenant House and Chalice. A Resurrection Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon by Father Ken Beck and Father Gerard Dewan. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Garden of the Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, September 30 at 10:30 a.m. Annette will be missed dearly!
