McCANN, WILLIAM JOHN - (1940 - 2014) - The death of William "Bill" McCann of Bright’s Grove, Ontario formerly of Goodwood, Ontario occurred after a lengthy illness at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, Ontario on September 25, 2014. Bill was born in Dalhousie, N.B. and educated in Saint John, N.B. before joining the RCAF where he served at several posts before retiring to accept a position with IBM. After retiring from work Bill and Shirley spent many happy years at the EEEE Farm with their much loved animals enjoying rural life. Bill was an avid golfer and occasional sailor. He was also a member of the Goodwood Lions Club. Bill is survived by his wife Shirley McCann (Hope), brother Robert (Cathy) of PEI, brother Gerald of Saint John, N.B. and sister Mary Harrington-McCann (Daniel) of Crocker Hill, N.B. Bill is also survived by sister-in-law Joan Beaudet (Paul) along with several nieces/ nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Geraldine McCann (Brown) and brother Daniel McCann.
As per Bill’s request there will be no formal service.
